How to Clean Car Floor Mats

Supplies

• Vacuum cleaner (Hand-held will work. A wet vac is a bonus)
• Carpet cleaner
• Scrub brush
• Hose
• Water bucket

Once you have your supplies in order, follow these steps: 

Method

1. Remove the floor mats from your vehicle. 
2. Shake and whack the floor mats against a hard surface to loosen trapped dirt. Vacuum the mats. 
3. Apply carpet cleaner to your floor mats following the cleaner’s instructions.
4. Scrub the mats to remove any stains and ground-in debris. Rinse thoroughly.
5. If you have a wet vac, vacuum your floor mats again. 
6. Hang your mats to dry. Make sure they are completely dry before placing them back in your vehicle. 

How to Clean Rubber Floor Mats

• Vacuum cleaner
• Rubber cleaner
• Stiff bristle brush
• Hose
• Water bucket

Method

1. Remove floor mats from your vehicle.
2. Shake out the mats and vacuum any leftover debris.
3. Rinse the mats with clean water. 
4. Apply the cleanser and gently scrub with a stiff bristle brush to remove grime and debris. Rinse the mats clean.
5. Hang up to dry. Make sure mats are completely dry before putting them back in the car.
