With the regular CTS turbo, the driver commands 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. 2018 Cadillac CTS drivers benefit from a 50/50 weight distribution and a sport-tuned suspension. Higher models let you choose from a 335-horsepower V6 or 420-horsepower turbo V6. Regardless of which CTS you choose, Cadillac provides a slick eight-speed automatic to deliver precision shifts and maximize power outlay. Another common element is active grille shutters to improve aerodynamics. The CTS is offered in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive models.
A supercharged engine powers the 2018 Cadillac CTS-V trim. Drivers command 640 horsepower and 630 lb-ft of torque. It can run the sprint in just 3.7 seconds. This model definitely is waiting on a date for the track. Magnetic Ride Control, a CTS option, regulates the ride, smoothing every bump. The exterior gets into the action. Its rear spoiler creates downforce. The carbon fiber hood lightens the load. It has a special air extractor that allows air to flow and reduces under hood lift. An aero splitter helps reduce front lift.
No one can call the CTS anything but upscale. However, the CTS-V package is definitely more upscale than the CTS top trim. Many of its standards are available at lower CTS trim levels, however. Leather covers the seats, and fine elements add soft touches. Seats are 20-way power chairs, which are heated and ventilated. You may choose the available 16-way Recaro sports seats. At this luxury level, cut-and-sewn elements include semi-Aniline leather and suede-like microfiber. The aluminum and carbon fiber finish adds to a racy feel. Like the regular model, the CTS-V has Cadillac User Experience technology. This includes a touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You also get performance-related statistics with the supercharged CTS-V. Available on the top CTS model as well as an option on the CTS-V, an UltraView moonroof stretches over two rows.
Today’s CTS sedans are decidedly protective and safe. Both CTS and CTS-V models offer Brembo performance brakes, but these are upgraded significantly for the CTS-V. There are a long list of available crash avoidance features for the regular model that are standards on the CTS-V. This starts with a forward collision warning and lane departure warning with GM’s Safety Alert Seat. There’s also a lane keeper and a lane change alert. A blind spot monitor and a following distance indicator round out standard offerings. Other systems include forward automatic braking for high-speed situations and forward/reverse automatic braking for low-speed situations. the CTS-V offers Cadillac’s unique rear camera mirror, showing you what’s behind the car even at highway speeds. Automatic Parking Assist is CTS-V standard along with an exclusive curb camera.
