The 2022 XT5 comes standard with a 2.0L Turbo 4-cylinder engine and capable of producing up to 235 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. It pairs with 9-speed automatic transmission and FWD capabilities. If you want more power, you can upgrade to a 3.6L V6 engine that can output up to 310 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. Regardless of which engine you choose, you’ll see the same 9-speed automatic and FWD pairing. However, you can unlock AWD capabilities with the Sport trim level. In terms of handling, the SUV offers Electronic Precision Shift, electronic traction control, Hitch Guidance with Hitch View, available performance suspension, Smart Towing, and more. The XT5 also offers up to 1,000 lbs in towing capacity and 2,086 lbs in payload.
The exterior of the 2022 XT5 offers a bold, aerodynamic design with numerous modern features that give it an upscale feel. The Cadillac comes in eight various colors, including Rosewood Metallic, and pairs with seven exclusive wheel designs to choose from. In terms of exterior features, you’ll have two unique grille designs to choose from, plus assist steps, splash guards, roof rails, illuminating door handles, a Hands-Free Power Liftgate, and an UltraView power sunroof. If you want your XT5 to feature a more sporty appearance, upgrade to the Sport trim for a unique styling which includes a specially-designed grille, plus custom accents and body molding.
The XT5 is crafted with Cadillac’s luxury standard in mind. Not only is the cabin designed with luxe materials like leather upholstery and wood trim, but it also offers an array of first-class features. The SUV seats up to 5 passengers, and while the rear seating offers optimal space, the front seats provide extreme comfort with built-in lumbar support and heating/ventilation capabilities. However, the rear seats can be upgraded for heating capabilities. The SUV also comes with an 8″ Driver Information Center and an 8″ Cadillac user experience display that pairs with a Bose premium 8-speaker audio system. The CUE offers a number of connectivity features including Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a SiriusXM with 360L trial subscription, available built-in navigation, and features a Bluetooth hands-free system for convenience and safety.
The 2022 Cadillac XT5 received a 5-star safety rating from the NHTSA and while it has not yet been rated or reviewed by the IIHS, we have no doubt its suite of driver assistance features will send it straight to the Top Safety Pick List.
